YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ALONE





It's difficult staying indoors alone or going outside to walk or run alone. It's ok to talk to friends on Zoom or Facetime. But why not have friends over......carefully. Very carefully....outdoors, of course.

Here's what we've been doing: We invite a couple at a time to visit us. You need a porch or outdoor area where you can sit the regulated distance apart. We have a settee on one side and chairs on the other.

Our friends bring their own bottle of wine and stem wear, and we bring ours. We also prepare some chips or other snack in TWO bowls.

We're fortunate here in the southland the weather stays pretty warm before sunset, but if you want to stay out later, you can always bring out a portable heater.

It's amazing how having a conversation in person can do so much to help with depression or anxiety (unless all you talk about is Covid19!)

Tonight we've having a couple come for dinner in our backyard, accessible through our carport. We set up two separate tables and are ordering out from Veggie Grill. Each of us will take his/her own meal and either use a sanitized wipe on the box or reheat the food in the microwave, then served with gloves on.

We always make sure to have a hand sanitizer "on hand."

You may be afraid of this kind of "togetherness," especially if you're immunocompromised. But so far it's worked out for us and our neighbors and friends. Just make sure you don't turn it into a party with multiple couples. That would be so much harder to monitor, especially if you're drinking.
